PSW Course Description
PSWs play an integral role in the health care sector, and have accrued growing importance during the recent years. The program is designed to train and prepare students to provide supportive care to individuals across their lifespan by assisting
them in their activities of daily living, including clients experiencing cognitive impairment, physical disability, and mental health challenges.
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) Program is offered in 37 or 43 weeks of duration and students graduating from the program receive an accredited NACC PSW Certificate along with the College Graduation Certificate.
Students are also given the opportunity to gain hands-on working experience
through placements in long term care homes and retirement homes and practical knowledge in lab classes.

About PSW Course
The Personal Support Worker course is a flagship program at the Clarkridge Career Institute. It helps the students to understand the basics and nuances of compassionate caring while assisting the individuals requiring health care needs and assistance.

Admission Requirements for PSW Program
Applicants must meet all the requirements below in order to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria to get admission in PSW program.
Admission selection is based on the following two requirements:
Academic Requirements:
In order to meet minimum program eligibility, you must possess the following:
- Grade 12 (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) or equivalent; or be at least 18 years of age or older.
- If a mature student, then you must pass a qualifying Test- SLE (Scholastic Level Exam) with a minimum score of 11.
- English Proficiency Test:
Pass the NACC Technical Literacy exam prior to admission into the program OR
IELTS with min average score of 5.5 bands with no score lower than 5 in each module OR
TOEFL with a minimum of 80 scores {20W 20R 20L 20S} OR
PTE with a minimum of 50 scores
- Medical certificate (includes TB test, immunization status especially Hepatitis B and Covid-19 vaccination is strongly recommended)
- Police Clearance Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector check
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification (provided by the Institute)
