Medical Office Assistant Program Description

The purpose is to make you independent in handling the office in a medical setting with the knowledge and skills in all these areas, which are further polished with the practical and hands-on training during your placement. All effort is made to give exposure to the theoretical as well as practical aspects of the course.
After completing your program, you will be proficient in carrying out the required activities such as
- Scheduling appointments and making confirmation calls, ensuring communication between the clients and the doctors.
- Maintaining medical records using relevant software, ensuring the confidentiality of medical records, updating the data regarding medical records.
- Handling the patients and helping them complete forms or documents.
- Assisting clients in filling insurance or other claim forms, ordering and maintaining the inventory in the office, other administrative activities like using fax, email or phone for effective communication.

Requirement for Medical Office Assistant Course
- ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
In order to meet minimum program eligibility, you must possess the following:
Grade 12 (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) or equivalent; or be at least 18 years of age or older.
If mature student, then you must pass a qualifying Test- SLE (Scholastic Level Test).
For International Students
English proficiency requirement
IELTS (With minimum average score of overall bands of 5.5) OR,
PTE with a minimum of 50 scores

Medical certificate (includes TB test, immunization status especially Hepatitis B and Covid-19 vaccination is strongly recommended)
Police Clearance Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector check.
